More about my approach

As a ceremony maker, I aim to create with you and for you a unique occasion which expresses what this moment means. At the same time, I draw upon some universal principles rooted in many people’s experience of crossing thresholds. For funerals and memorial services, the ‘feel’ of a crematorium, a cemetery and a burial site in nature differs greatly and I will take this into account when making suggestions to help you to plan the ceremony. For celebrations, too, the setting is vitally important. You may know where you want to hold your event and, if it is not your home, I will suggest that we hold at least one meeting at your chosen venue while we plan. If you have not yet found somewhere which reflects what you want to achieve, I can visit places with you. Often, we don’t fully appreciate until afterwards all the nuances involved in a life-changing event. Even with the happiest celebration, there can be an underlying need for tenderness, perhaps some sadness that a special person is not present with you. It may also be important to consider what you want to leave behind as you enter a new phase of life, not least so that you can make room for new and even unknown developments in the future. If you would like me to, I will help you think more about such matters as you prepare, so that you can make the most of the day. |
