Funerals
The death of a loved one is a significant event in our lives. It is a time
when we focus on everything this person has meant to us. Our last loving
act is to provide a funeral which respects them, expresses their character and
reminds us of whom we have lost. A good funeral ceremony also helps us to
release our grief, celebrate the value of the person, take our leave of them
and begin to move forward.
Some of us prefer to plan our own funeral, so that we can celebrate our life
and give thanks for the people and experiences we have treasured. It can
comfort those we leave behind greatly to know the ceremony fulfills our wishes.
For every circumstance, every location and every set of beliefs and none, my
wish is to help you to make the funeral that you want. I am open and committed
to providing the most fitting occasion.
Gaining a full picture will help me to conduct the funeral for you. I will:
- visit you to hear all about the one you have lost, or about you
- listen to what you wish to be included in the ceremony
- make some suggestions and help you to plan it.
Alongside a spoken tribute (which you might prefer me to deliver), you may
want to:
- include music, poetry, other readings, and some silent time
- invite family members and friends to participate.
When you contact me, I will give you more information to help you to prepare
for our meeting and at every stage I will liaise closely with your
Funeral Director. If you live too far away for me to visit quickly,
we can speak over the telephone and, if possible, email.
